Bad things happen in 3's? This might be #3 after Beetle parking lot hit and run, and Conetastrophe.
Initially the turn signal would not engage in the flash mode consistently, then not at all. Sometimes the lights would flash, but you couldn't tell from inside the vehicle. Then it got so the switch would not come out of flash mode. Now no turn signal lights at all. The switch is pretty loose on the column. Is it the relay- one of those 9 pin jobs, or the switch? I'm thinking the switch. I've ordered a new relay and will put it in. I'm guessing I'll still have no signals. How hard is it to get the correct switch and to do the replacement? Part # is partially obliterated on the top surface of the switch.

Also, the high beam switch stopped working when the turn signal lights quit.

Re: 67 Beetle Turn Signals
Tighten the switch to the column and report back.
Re: 67 Beetle Turn Signals
Its a phillips head screw in poor condition. Not sure about positioning the switch. Lever opposite the tripping tang that is on the steering wheel on the right and 0.04 to 0.08 gap between switch and steering wheel. I've tightened as much as I dare and the switch seems to be locked in place. No change in behavior. Next?

Re: 67 Beetle Turn Signals
I am thinking it is the switch. If memory serves the "Swiss Watch like box controlled the flashers and there was a separate relay for the headlights. So if you are having problems with both I would think it is the switch itself. I purchased one from Wolfsburg West about 15 years ago and it is still working fine. Below is the link.........they have gone up a bit in price since then. The original ones can still be found though they usually will no longer self cancel (for whatever reason that always wears out.).

After looking at the prices ( ) I would probably go with the Airhead part unless you want absolute originality.
