Engine Stands

Post by Karl Kombi »

Does anyone have any opinions about a 3 or 4 arm engine stand yoke vs. a two arm yoke with regard to properly supporting the engine case? It obviously seems that the "more arms the better" for surface area support, but the cost difference is obviously significant. I'll wait for the experts' opinions... ;)

It's probably overkill, but I bought this yoke. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds ... ?id=606308

I paired it with one of the better four legged stands from Harbor Freight.

Thanks, Sean! That's the least expensive 4-arm yoke I've seen. :)

Yeah. Definetly just buy that or similar yoke. I remember seeing a 3 arm one around the samba for $75 that fits in a generic harbor freight style stand. Check the samba i guess.

Thanks Rick, for your supporting view on the more substantial yoke. I already have the 4-legged HF-style stand.
