Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
I am very pleased with the way the panel turned out. Took the clamps off and sanded it down. Came out way better than I had hoped. Of course there is some water damage visible and there is some difference in color because of that. Still all in all not to bad. First two pics are of the back, then a profile shot and the last two are of the front. I did not sand as much on the back because I was not trying to lighten any of the discoloration.

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
It looked better after a coat of stain.
and even better after the second coat.
Can’t believe it came out this well. I mean I’ve thrown things away that were in better shape. Wish I could get them back now

Put the overhead cabinet back in. Did some more varnishing. Received a package from England.

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
Today I worked on the refrigerator cabinet. It had a bit of water damage from the vent window that had been leaking. There was a piece of laminate missing on one end and a layer of the plywood underneath. I mixed some epoxy wood filler to level out the missing plywood layer and the will glue in a new piece of laminate. The bottom of the cabinet had begun to delaminate so I glued that back together and then used some epoxy filler for the gaps. The rail that the refrigerator lid and storage compartment lid attached to had loose holes were the hinge attached. I used some gorilla glue and toothpicks to fill the holes and the drilled new smaller holes My son and I cleaned and polished the galvanized sides of the fridge. Tomorrow I plan to sand and varnish the bottom area under the fridge and back side. The laminate on the front is in pretty good shape.

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
If you are having a tough time getting the water stains out of the wood, I used wood bleach on my cabinets and had great results. The black stains came right out and was able to finish the wood without any issues.
