Looks like a nice driver and knowing you, there will be many improvements in the future. Looks like I'd better get working on the 68 SC soon so I can keep up with the Bay window busses and maybe even get out 55-60 MPH Split Bus Comfort Zone.

Actually not a bad looking bus. I have always liked the sliding center windows.

I don't know how old the rubber brake lines are on there, but on my "new bus" (and I will be updating my thread shortly) I am going to be using these for the hoses....

You should still replace those after a several years too. Grit can get inot the stainless braid and chafe the teflon liner from the outside in.

Toolbox,

They have not shown up as of yet, but when they do I will post a photo of them. I have never held them in my hand, so I don't know if any grit could get into them or not. I do like the fact that they will not collapse internally.

They have to be better than the 30 year old ones that are on there right now though.

I will keep that thought in mind. Thank you.

Some of the braided lines I recive have a shrink wrap protecting them from said grit gettting into them ,either way I have never seen one fail
the best ideas are often the worst choices.

Well, I guess we can call it the "Lurchmobile" for now. Its Dan's (Lurch) old bus and yes, it was once owned by Keith Price as well.

I remember when Keith owned it. It had this crazy double roof tent with ladder access! :shock: A fireman's dream! :lol:

The fact that I took three pictures of it at three different campouts must have been an omen. Mike, the last owner, told me he was moving to Iceland and he couldn't take it with him because it would cost him $4,000 to "container" it. So he said: "make me an offer". I did, and suddenly without really planning on it, I had another bus that wouldn't start and had all 4 wheels locked up! :D

Here it was as I found it at Mike's. Go Browns!!! :lol:

So I got it towed to Dale's VW and Dale got it running and got the wheels unlocked. I just got in the way. :lol:

So I called Dawn and told her I just picked up another bus. Her first comment was: "Does it at least run?" :roll: "Well it does now honey!" :lol:

It needs some very minor rust repair :lol: , but I'm all about rust repair! :D

We should have some fun with this one. My son is playing rugby as a freshman, so it may become a rugby traveling bus. We'll see.

Can't wait till I put a 36HP in it and convert it over to 6V! :lol: Yea 6 volt w/ 36 HP on a 6 rib tranny! :D That's the ticket! :lol:

I put the same ones on my DC, I really like them. I have had SS braided on my Suburban for 12 years, been in mud, snow, and at the dunes, no problems yet.

Totaly love the new name ,when I had it was the price bus glad to see that's no longer in use

Yes, its a fitting name, but I have no problem with the old name and I'm sure it will still be used. I ran the M-code today. Here's the result:

I'm pretty much a stock guy so in adddition to all the other work I have, I'm also going to try to restore the heat.

BTW, when is summer coming anyway? :roll:

So the heater box connector or "flapper" boxes are gone from this bus as are the connection pipes from the HE's to the connection boxes. I went up and dug through some crap in the garage and found some pristine new ones. Good thing. They are now running between $105 and $150 EACH new on the internet! :shock: The connecting pipes are about $75 each! :shock: Still need to find two of those.

If you have any of these, hold onto them as they are not cheap!
