Weekend update,
Bent and fitted in new hard lines in the rear. And then i got tired of rolling around on the ground and started cleaning and vacuming the cab out. I pulled the seats out and emptied all the crap in the spare wheel well. And then just pulled out a scrub brush and went at the headliner, dash, and more. Still working on that "funk" smell but im sure i will get it. And the holes in the floor will vent some of that out.
Monday update,
I took the brake drums outside for a good power-washing. When i realized the rear drums were a mess. Both had been machined at least twice and were on the thin side. 1 was a split bus drum and the other was a correct bay drum. The bay drum turned out to be cracked after I blasted the crud off... So I got frustrated and just bought 2 new correct drums. The front drums thankfully are thick and juicy . I took them to the local old school mechanic and for 5 bucks each he machined them up. Then I packed and installed the new bearings, races, and installed them on the spindles. Then went to the rear brakes and lets just say I will need backing plates eventually. How many hours so far you ask? Many.
Well... Just going to call it now and say this truck wont be at KI due to time constraints. Is there enough time to get it on the road? Probably. But I personally dont have the time right now. Sorry for the hype...
