Nice find Rick. Those early bays are very cool. It will be a great project!
Griffin Ga. is off the beaten path (that path being I-75) but still close to Atlanta (which is north) and Macon (which is southeast). Save that logo if you can!

TRL wrote:The PO said this used to be a parts delivery truck for a VW Dealership. RBM Motors Griffin, GA. So after a little cleaning this truck has some faded hand painted logos on the doors under a respray of paint. Going to take my time and try to save them best I can :) Mechanically, it needs brakes gone through. brakes went out and thats why it was parked. PO said motor and trans were fine ( I hope).
Ironically, I found my 68 SC in a guy's back yard in Westlake about 10 years ago. It also belonged to a dealership, but it was in Arizona. There are also dealer logos barely visible on the doors. I will be interested in how you were able to remove the newer paint layer to get to the original paint?

In light of everyone doing the "ice bucket challenge", Ive decided to do the "rusty crusty truck challenge" (RCTC). So my goal. Get this hunk of german engineering to KI so I have a moped hauler. I honestly havent touch this truck and have no idea on the condition of anything. Except rust ;).

Does that mean if you don't get it running you have to donate it to charity?
If so, keep MKK's house for abandoned, neglected, and abused VWs, in mind. :)

If you need an extra set of hands as zero hour nears, give me a shout.

Now you got me thinking. If Chuck has a swap meet along with the camp out. I was going to load my 68 SC with junk and head over there.
