As I said earlier Sean, I have one matching sticker left in my collection with your name all over it. I can't think of a finer bus to donate it to! :)

Dan you're great. I highly recommend your employer's (Al's ) shop for any VW work. I am thrilled with the windows and seals. I'm not certain they're in wrong, and even if they are, I'm still happy. They came out great! :D

Howie, you're the man. Only you would have an extra "buzzard" sticker, and more importantly, remember the golden age of rock-roll in Cleveland. I'd save that one for your daughter! :D

Back on point tomorrow with the '59. It was movie night tonight ("Hangover") with Mrs G and the neighbors. Popular with some, but pretty lame and 'childlike' if you ask me. Go see it for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

A movie about Hangovers? I wouldn't know the first thing about those. Even less than I know about installing an engine seal. 8-)

If I get time this afternon I'll crawl underneath and deal with the fuel issue. The bus was so dirty from being in the garage all winter I cleaned it up today. I also decided to re-install the old mirrors that were on it. I'm no bus specialist, but I'm told these were offered in '59 as a dealer installed option. I would assume they were for buses pulling a trailer. Kind of big and bulky, but you can sure see what's coming up on you right or left. Not sure what you guys think of them???? (Too late now, I already drilled the holes!)

I decided to go with the amber lenses on the bullets. Origihnal were white. I've still got them, but I like the amber look. Any thoughts?

I still need a right hand side bullet housing. Any color will do as I have mango paint. I can't find the ones I had anywhere. Not sure if folks like the amber or not.

Bus is coming along. Just got to finish the brakes (next Saturday) and a few 'odds and ends' and I'll be good to go.

UPDATE: I pulled the fuel line off the fuel tap and got fuel. It must be the line. It's either clogged, the wrong size, or just set up in a way that is restricting the flow. Dawn's family is over so I'm done for the day.

Here are the pics...

I also read where those west coast type mirrors were Dealer options and they set your Bus off really well...... Good choice in keeping them......... now all you need is a hitch like mine, a tow bar and then the bug can go camping too......

Ok Sean. I might have been wrong about the mirrors.

The amber turn signal lenses really stand-out in contrast to the Mango color and look great!
Go with the amber, bro! 8-)

Well, I found my missing bullet housings. I knew they'd turn up at some point. Many thanks to Gregg (21 Window) for offering me a pair off an old '58 he had. That lower one is a pristine passenger housing. Just what I need. Here they are...

I'm still messing with the fuel issue. I really think it's the in-line plastic filter under the bus between the fuel tap and the hard metal line that runs to the fuel pump. I may just run the fuel line without the plastic filter and see if that increases the rate of fuel. Fuel is getting to the pump, but not in a manner or volume that will let me prime it so I can go! I'm not realy in a hurry because while I do the barkes I have to get an accellerator cable spring and a spring sleave. Without them the pedal really doesn't return. WW has them and I need a few odds and ends, so It'll be this weekend.

The brakes are getting ready to go in. I'm going with the CIP1 dual conversion kit. The resevoir is overpriced, but I'm tired of looking for Rabbit or Volvo 140 or 240 resevoirs and all the little pieces parts. I'm beat down. The kit is $169 and that doesn't include the MC! (Ouch!) The Varga, (brazillian dual MC is around $50), so I ordered it. I have a lot of questions about using this set up without vacuum or a servo, but they claim it "works". I suppose I should have asked you guys first, but I want to finish this so I ordered it earlier today so I can get it in this weekend. Here is the link to the resevoir "kit" http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp ... D015%2D267
Here is the MC http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp ... 2D021%2DAA

While I'm at it, I need help with some brake part ID's. I posted this on the samba, but may as well ask here as well...
