I'm going to try to get out and pull your fuel tank and see if we can find your leak. Prob replace some shift bushings too so your not waving out of the passenger window when you shift

One cylinder melted while the others are OK would point to a way-too-lean condition in that cylinder. Bad intake runner hose? Clogged fuel injector? Leaking fuel injector seal? Loose intake manifold nuts?

Rolled out to Smittie's to drop/pick up parts with Bill. Let me tell you these guys were hard at work!
Image

They had the gas tank out long before I got there.
Image

Bill & Lurch found why Smittie was getting those fumes in the passenger compartment.
Image

This is an easier job with the engine, battery, FI brain and everything else out of the way inside, but it's still a tough replacement if you ask me.
Image

The 79 degree expert was down below w/ Lurch checking out the heating components! They certified it for... 79 degrees!
Image

You can see where Bill & Lurch replaced the front coupler.
Image

Bill got the "metal ball" half together.
Image

Smittie provided some supervision.
Image

Then Smittie's supervisor showed and her day was over.
Image

Nice job by Bill, Smittie, Lurch & John! :D
