Nice job Smittie. :D Why does a bus (or any other vehicle) seem to run better when it's clean? :?

She's not running better at all :( :( :( YET

What a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING, I thought the engine would be tough  ....but it was fun. I had alot of great instruction from all of you. A few little things left here that need to be cleaned yet, but that will be WAY easier than this little project.

Thank you so much you guys!

Huge KUDOS..to John for pulling my engine (he was on a secret mission, he snuck in early in the morning so I wouldn't try to help  ) and showing me some good cleaning techs, Chuck and Sean for picking her up, Chuck for fixing Her (well, replacing most of her  ) and "teasing" me about a govenor  Bill and Dan for coming out yesterday and pulling the gas tank and working on my shift linkage (and I'm sure there were other things being handled that were out of my earshot).

WOW....THIS IS WHAT A BUS CLUB IS ABOUT :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Who knew

Sometimes the problem is on the outside. It can happen with a simple mouse nest in the cooling tin. When the nest gets about so hot, It burns! and then there is a fire on both sides of the cooling fins, which makes them gather heat rather quickly. They turn into quick heating fins!
Also it is well worth the money to buy a repalcement for the factory installed "mesh/screen over the cooling air intake" At speeds around 80Mph. it is possible to suck/pull debris in from the outside and over the engine. I have done this before taking a new purchase home. It was in fact; a mouse nest.

Perhaps we should recomend a proper English Governess to firmly remind Smitty to "watch her speed diligently if she wishes to avoid unwanted difficulties down the road".
