I saw the bus last night in person at Basil's. It really came out nice. Nick worked hard on it and he's now great a great bus!

As they say, "The Devil is in the Details". Very meticulous work on the interior, and it looks fantastic!

Thanks guys. The next thing I have to do is install the emblem. I'll be looking from the inside as per Bill's instructions and will try to take some photos. I also found this photo on thesamba after a ton of searching:

I didn't have the right size drill bit so the emblem will have to wait.

Instead I used my dremel and Krylon River Rock to work on a "Her's" stool just in case I find a suitable woman out in Nebraska.

You can tell which one's been repainted, but it's darn close.

Not much to report other than the engine is ~700 miles now after driving around when home last week. Next summer new tires (cracking from age) or some flavor of replacement wheel/tire combo are in order.

I was the only VW, out of about 5 max imports at the Findley State Park cruise in. The last time I looked at placards, they were at 196 different rides.

But best of all I found STD Metal Leve main bearings BC105J-STD on craigslist for $20 for when I start building the stroker AE engine for it. Granted, I gotta keep saving my nickels so I can then get my case to RIS for some love.
