If you're not going to stay at a Hilton, at least you can get camping advice from Paris Hilton.

We can only imagine how you found that, Sean, but again, not helpful.

So, do we do a Nov LEAKOIL campout this year? Is there interest gang?

We don't need firm commitments, but maybe a show of hands as to who wants to camp Nov 5 SOMEWHERE?

Starting Nov 1 water will be off at East Harbor, and porta potty only.

OK, checked around and best bet seems to be Findlay State Park, non-electric sites 234 thru 240. (there are lots of folks camping this fall!)
Ohio's complete State Park camping system is now 'reservations only.

Findlay is more woodsy (like PIB) and will have the shower house open (they say probably) where there are flush toilets.

Was able to get special permission to park 2 'RVs' per site.(normally only one 'RV' per site.) So, TWO busses on one site, max 6 people per site.

I know of 6 folks camping so I'm booking sites 240, 239, 238. You can book your own sites choosing 237 thru 234 to be near the group.

We'll choose one place to have our group firering - bring wood even though Regis has a lot.

More info for Findlay State Park camping:

There is normally a two night minimum, but got permission for our group to camp just one night, Sat, Nov 6. (I did this because I am usually the only one that camps Fri at PIB, most folks arrive on Sat.)

So, when you make reservations CALL Karla at 440-647-4490 and ask for ONE NIGHT, Sat 11-6-21. Mention 'Dan' since I've bugged her so much she'll remember me and our group's 'special needs' - I mean special favors.

Again, if you are booking, ask for sites 234, 235, 236, or 237. (Regis, Craig, Kirk, Barry, Mike and I are on 238, 239, 240.)

Wow, this is nowhere near as simply as driving up to PIB campground.
