Campers can arrive beginning at Noon on Friday, October 8th. Our contract and insurance does not allow admission prior to that. If you arrive prior to that, the State Park at the end of Division St.
is an option, or just cruise around the island.

We will again have our silent auction. Our sponsors have donated some very nice items, but, we need you also. Dig through you treasures  . As most of you are aware, LEAKOIL does not receive any of the moneys for the camp out. Your payments go 100% to Erie county 4 H. The sale of t-shirts and other items and the silent auction are what support the cost of this web site, and the goodies that we provide including the free hot dogs and beverage all week end. Items do not need to be bus or VW related.

Check in will be at the garage at the entrance to the camp. Try not to arrive before noon on Friday. If you arrive late on Friday and there is no one at check in, just go set up and see us in the morning for your pass and goody bag. If arriving after noon on Saturday the rate is 1/2 of the stated cost.

There are no assigned sites. Just pick a spot and set up. there is very limited electric available.
At the top of the camping area at the basketball court, nearest to the restrooms and dinning hall, about half way down the field at the reviewing stand and at the pavilion at the right side of the beach. Electric heaters are prohibited as the circuits can not handle more than a couple and the breakers are not easily accessible. If you think you may need heat, we suggest a propane heater buddy.

4H does not allow ground fires and there are no fire rings. You may bring a raised fire pit. There is also a large fire ring at the beach.

Dogs are permitted. PLEASE be a responsible pet owner. Pick up after them. 4H requests that you keep you dog leashed, however there are areas on both sides of the 4H beach where you can let your dog run free.

The speed limit on the Island is 25 MPH. a speeding ticket on the Island will cost you more than your ferry and camping combined.

Speed limit on the 4H grounds is 5MPH. Please be aware of children playing all over the camping area. 4H asks that you use the road along the field and try to avoid driving on the field other than to get to your camping spot. The Reckless operation of any vehicles including golf carts, mopeds or others will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion.

Golf carts a a great way to get around the camp and the Island. We have arranged a small discount from KI General store. Located on the right as you turn on to Division st.

There is an ice machine in the dinning hall for our use. Also a walk in cooler. 4H will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning in the dinning hall. 4 H will also provide fire wood, however, we won't know about the supply until we arrive. If you are bringing a raised fire pit,you may want to bring a bit of wood.

4H will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
> Do to the growth of this event and high attendance this year, and the capacity of the dinning
> hall at 4H, we have made the decision to cancel the pot luck dinner for Saturday evening.
> The hall will be open and accessible for those who wish to socialize. The hot dog machine will be operating. For the same reasons, 4H will be providing breakfast at 2 times, 8AM and 9AM both Sat. and Sun. You can sign up for your time at registration.
Also, since this is mainly a youth camp, coffee cups are a premium. 4H asks that if possible, bring you travel mug or coffee cup.
> We thank you for your understanding.

NOTE: Only VW camping vehicles will be allowed in the camping area.
Non VW camping vehicles will need to park in the upper parking area.
Tent campers will be able to unload their gear at their chosen camp site, but must then park in the designated area. We will need one completed registration form per vehicle.

Golf cart rental. we have again arranged a discount on golf cart rentals at Kelleys Island general store.
https://www.kigeneralstore.com/

4 seat cart Fri-Sun $239.00

They will not take reservations. First come first served. You will pass them on the way to the 4H camp, so you may want to stop when you get on the island.

It may be a little cool in the evening. Just a reminder, electric heaters are not allowed. If you think you may need heat, You may want to consider a MR. Heater Heater buddy. these are safe and heat a bus nicely.
