71' Adventurewagen
71' Adventurewagen
We'll, I did it again! I bought another 71' bus in the desert and drove it home. The last time it was a tin top, this time it's a high top Adventurewagen. It's in great condition, no rust and a bunch of work done to keep it running cool. The previous owner used to take it to burning man festival (9 times) has a 1776, freeway flyer trans and external oil cooler with an electric fan. I flew to Tucson AZ and drove it 2000+ miles home without a hiccup, which was great because I brought zero tools. I didn't take many pictures of the drive home, but it was cool to see old RT66 again through a bay window. I remembered how important it was to plan for mountain grades and downshift a lot! Anyways here's the link to the last one in 2009, and then a few pictures of the new one. viewtopic.php?t=169

Haha, I haven't found any pictures yet, but I have gone through a few razor blades scraping off burning man stickers.

If it's flat and I am drafting a truck, I've seen 70mph. Any bit of grade I'm grabbing third and watching the needle drop.
