Re: Oliver Holley-Fry

Oliver was always among the best. He had exemplary ethics. Oliver would not only offer his help, but follow through. Oliver was not interested in exploiting the vulnerable, but in quietly lending a hand. Self promotion and good P.R. were never the aim. Just a genuine act of kindness. Oliver wanted t...

Re: Vanagon Conetastrophy

I see all suggested explanations as plausible. But, My knee jerk reaction is the shift linkage being struck. The clean shear is a statement and story in itself. I have seen cars that had some rather odd damage during my years in a tow truck. High speed shifts into the wrong gear did sometimes remove...

Re: Mohican Misadventures 2015. June 12-14

I prefer taking State Route 3 south from Medina. Just north of Wooster is Hartzler's Dairy, a worthy place to stop. They have, some would argue, the best line up of Ice Cream, Chocolate Milk and Milk (with a capital "M")in the state. The secret?..."Cow's on grass, milk in glass"....

Re: 1960 SO-23 A.K.A. Gunther

Josh Knows; Use Tung Oil...and the job is licked. You might want to look into a product called Waterlox. It is mostly tung oil. Many years ago when I worked in a restoration shop,I was tasked with refinishing the wood in the older Roll's and Packards. This is what I used. It takes several coats,so i...

Re: 1960 SO-23 A.K.A. Gunther

If it is not just sitting on the surface (and toxic plastic), can it really protect the wood? Well...Probably...yes... The Minwax will make a deep protective bond. And yes, My grandmother would have used it (but are we old enough to not be embarrassed by that fact ?). "Stabilize, protect and pr...

Re: Tom Kern

Tom Kern will be deeply missed. He was one of the kind, caring, gentle people in the club who always knew how to make others feel welcomed. Tom was emblematic of why people want to belong to a club. He really knew how to be a friend...Always one of the best.

Re: Tune-up Day - May 2nd

Re: Colors of Autumn - Day Trip

I have heard that Ground Hog Gravy is a well respected Saturday Afternoon Meal (when done right). Do you know how to "do it right?" I would post a pic of my empty wallet butt I had to pawn my camera. or, carefull what you ask for there is more than one reason for the name roadkill, o...
