Re: Mohican campout 2017

Less than a week away! Since there has been no interest/response in a "potluck" luncheon after the cruise, I think we will just shelf that idea. Bill still has the weenie roller so we can just grab a dog if people want. Friday night beer and chips around the fire is still on. Remember if you reserve...

Re: Mohican campout 2017

We are about a month out Mohican 2017. I was finally able to get in touch with someone at campground, and confirm our discount. When you register, make sure to use my last name, Ramsey, and mention LEAKOIL to receive your 10% discount. For those that reserved the river front sites, they are reigiste...

Re: Mohican campout 2017

Hard to believe it's been almost a year, and this will be here before we know it Same spiel as last year. Reservations have been made for Mohican Misadventures 2017. Mohican Wilderness is the campground. The dates will be June 9-11, and are listed on the calendar. This place has a lot of activities,...

Re: Austin's 1977 Tintop Camper

I always mount the magnetic base on yoke, or part of stand, as they are steel. Keep your end bearings, but not center bearing (2 piece) on and set crank in case, set up dial indicator and slowly rotate crank. This may tell you if it is even worth having crank redone or just buying new counter weight...

Nope. Should spin free. The 2 piece main bearing is actually slightly out of round until correct torque. Could be what you are noticing, probably not though. Is it tough to spin or does not spin at all? Did the bearing remain in the case halves or on crank? What's the surface of the bearing look lik...

Patina

Next you will be throwing Fuchs on it and lowering it.

I know you are not a "camper" per se, but it will be nice to have you at some more of the camp outs (schedule permitting)

If nothing else, maybe it takes on life as a rolling resto.

Re: Trials and Tribulations of the Orange Booger.

You guys need a run stand or run adapter to run it on the stand........ I mostly agree, and do want one for my type 1 endeavors at home. The problem is the Shop of Sorrows churns out mostly Type 4 and wasser boxers. Sure we could install carbs in lieu of the fuel injection, and that would work for ...

Re: Trials and Tribulations of the Orange Booger.

So it started the night of VWs in the vineyard. On the highway the bus started losing power, down to 50, then 30, then down couldn't even keep it at rpm in 2nd. Pull off to shoulder, and it stalls. Give it a minute and it starts back up, get back up to speed, travel on down the hiway. About 5 miles ...
