Re: '66 Deluxe

Winter is starting to break, everyone is hunkered down because of the virus and I'm stuck here working on my bus instead of being in sunny Florida and going to the Lakeland VW show next week. I figgered it wasn't a good idea to be traveling right now so I cancelled my trip. Anyway, here's what...

Re: '66 Deluxe

Yes, I should have mentioned I checked that and it's tight as hell. It's a bit different than the '65 where I added some weld, the '66 has a bracket wrapped around the tubes- both throttle and clutch. I was thinking about adding some weld until I saw it's sturdier than the '65. I yanked on it, and p...

Re: '66 Deluxe

Examining the PP shows nothing, it has only a few thousand miles on it when in the Ghia and worked great. The collar is level, the spring is not cracked, no visual cues. Re: '66 Deluxe

Wow, I've been challenged by a tough one here. The 2180 is bone dry, has 10+ hours on the run stand to prove it, and is ready to go in. I prep the flywheel and pressure plate with a DA like I always do. I put the 1700 lb Kennedy Stage 1 clutch PP I used on it in the Ghia with a new solid hub disc an...

Re: Sean's '59 Panel

I'll soon migrate to a 1600 once Bruce can evalute my pieces/parts. Sean brought me a 1600 DP core to tear down and examine. Things didn't go so well.... The first red flag was the JB Weld gooped on the outside of the case. P2180002.JPG Upon teardown it looks like they "tried" to seal up the big cr...

Re: '66 Deluxe

The best thing is that there are zero oil leaks! YEA! Well, not exactly zero leaks. :( I cheated and did not pull P&C #3and 4 off to change the cam and it bit me. After several hours on the run stand jugs #3 and 4 started leaking where they join the case. Because it's a big bore the sealing flange ...

Re: WTB: PC Services

I went there today with a fresh frame of mind and got it working. A lot of terminologies I'm not familiar with, really poor instructions that were very misleading, and the fact that I was connecting wirelessly all made it an uphill battle (for me). But it's done. :P Thanks, Sean, I really appreciate...

OK, I'm in over my head. I'm running a Verizon Jetpack at the shop for internet but the range is weak and I need to set up an extender. Verizon says this will work, Best Buy says this will work, and I can't figure out how to get it to work. It's asking all kinds of questions I don't understand, it's...
