PIB Campout

This happens either the first or second weekend in Nov, and I am proposing that for this year we camp the second weekend: Nov 8,9,10. The first weekend is Halloween and there will be lots of other things going on, here and there, and the ferries will be packed. Or has there already been discussion/d...

Re: Volunteers for 2013

I believe this will be the first time ever, since we started camping at KI, that Virginia and I will have to miss it. Sorry to not be with all of you.

I have about 10 Leakoil magnets that I will get to someone to bring to the island, or better yet, to Third Thursday if possible.

Cheers.

Re: Put in Bay November 2nd & 3rd 2012

Just talked with Ranger Steve Riddle and have this info: 1) We can use wood from the large pile in the maintenance area -as usual, but take only as much as you will burn at the campsite. They don't want any wood left at the sites. 2) They are very aware that some in our group have not paid in the pa...

Re: Put in Bay

PIB is on for the first weekend in Nov. Most folks arrive on Sat for the overnight campout in the State Park, but some of us do arrive on Friday to enjoy the extra day of the quietness of the place - but that can change depending on who shows up :) Because the State Park camping office is not manned...

Re: woollybear festival sept 30th

Being one of the "Vermilion guys" Bill referred to and expected to jump in, I can say that we usually avoid Woolly Bear weekend because of the huge crowds. Don't want to dis it in any way, its the usual good family fun with tons of good/greasy food, live music, etc.

Re: Kamping at Kai

Some of you may know this place as the old Wild Waves (bar and summer cottages.) Truly a very cool place on the lake with big sandy beach. Lake Erie water is clean in this area, at least cleaner than most all the beaches where they monitor bacteria count, and the big trees make for lots of shade. An...
