Re: 1957 Oval
Over the winter I really thought long and hard about how I was going to use the Beetle in the coming year. It's really only a drive-around-town vehicle, and I'm fine with that, but after running this little 36HP motor hard for the past 8-9 years; the leaky split case trans; and the clutch chatter, I...

Re: Piston Power Show
I'll assume it was an 11 mile car when it was first titled in 2013, but it probably has a few more miles on it now. Either way, that's quite a vehicle. I guess there's always a debate about low mileage cars that aren't driven and those that have miles (driven sparingly) but driven nonetheless. I'd s...

WTB Swing Axle '61-'67 bug transmission
tranny.jpg Looking at a long range plan to upgrade my oval to a later tunnel trans with a more powerful motor. If I can source a replacement trans and related parts, I'll keep the current split-case trans and 36HP motor mothballed for the next owner to achieve stock nirvana. I want to upgrade in my...

I love when I know nothing. And I love when my comment is on my knowing nothing.
But I will learn from the install.

2022 Christmas Party
I didn't take any pictures, and if I did, they would be blurry! Anyway, I want to thank Bill and Marla for putting the party together. And wow! What a party! Really great turnout. I guess I realized today just how much the club has evolved. We now have more babies under 5 years of age than we ...

Re: '65 Standard
the only minor modification was the fuel inlet was setup for 1/4" hose rather than the 5.5mm that VW uses. For $100 and your time and expertise, I'd say that's a great investment! So you threaded the housing itself or inserted a threaded insert? Would all the other components from a Solex/Bros...
