Re: '66 Deluxe
Bruce, Could you better explain "....a high spot in the center so I adjust it just like any other American box, (it's an ATE/Ross box!) to zero lash on the high spot. (pitman arm zero side play- no "click")" Did your box start with slop and after cleaning and changing seal you a...

Re: 1967 beater, I mean Beetle
Nice job! My first VW was a '67 Beetle I bought in '77, just when graduating HS. Many fond memories in that car.......

Re: '66 Deluxe
My work's been busy so I've been working on the bus, but a lot of shorter days spaced in between work days. :( I cleaned stuff up and resealed the steering box. Local bearing places did not have the seal in stock and wanted to charge me freight to get it in, so it was cheaper to buy it off of Ebay f...

Re: COVVC LEAKOIL Spring Cruise - Saturday May 4, 2013
I'm thinking of going to Lakewood Joe's Deli (not Rocky River) in the am around 8am-8:30am. Same family that owns the legendary Slyman's, but a lot cheaper. They have a $4 Saturday breakfast. http://lakewood-oh.patch.com/listings/joes-deli-restaurant-2 http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc134/galla...

Re: '66 Deluxe
Another short update, a day or two's worth of work: I pulled the steering box apart to make sure things were OK inside, and to clean the pitman shaft before putting a seal on it. I drained the oil which was really ugly with traces of water. If you guys haven't ever changed your steering box oil you ...

Re: '66 Deluxe
I was in Florida last week so nothing got done. I had some time this week, so I finished putting the outriggers and jackpoints on. I also took some wire rope and cleaned out the clutch tube, brake cable tubes, and throttle tube with a drill and brakeclean. I'll do the heater cable tubes later. LR ou...

Re: Canton Show August 17th 2013
Same day as Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit.
Now.... if you want to go to a REAL car show, you'll go to WWDC. I've done it a bunch of times and it's frigging unreal, 40,000 classic cars and 1.7 million people generally show up.
Be there!

Re: '66 Deluxe
As for the welds, I post pics of the good ones, but there's still plenty of ugly ones too. Frame stuff is thick and easy to lay a nice bead on, until the day I die I will struggle with sheetmetal welds. As for the height, it looks kinda nice on stands waaaayyyy up there. I'm tall and have bad knees....
