Re: Fort Firelands ****MAY 30th****

For those who don't know Dan... I didn't know Mitawanga existed until I met 'Mitawanga Dan'. Great guy who lives in a great little Ohio community. The only thing better than his sound system is his music collection. He's got some pretty rare stuff that for the older 1960's and 1970's crowd, (l...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

The fact is that you WANTED something done, and figured out the best way to do it Sean. You accomplished it on your own, with Leakoiler's tips and advice, and made it work for YOU. That alone is your Badge of Courage, and you made that bus personally yours. Flaws and pimples and all. We as a club C...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

That's a humbling message hosedrag_r, and I very much appreciate your kind comments. I think it's great you've signed up and are contributing. LEAKOIL is only great because folks take the time to get involved and contribute. I know I beat this like a dead horse, but let's face facts. I really am an ...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

If that is a picture of your pedal you have the lower part of the hinge. The upper part for the hinge is part of the pedal and the lower part is welded to the floor. It is held together by the pin and the "L" spring holds the pin in. So it's the "L" spring I need. WW is out of t...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

#1. Yes. The lower half of the hinge should be welded to the floor. #2. The spring is what holds the arm. Look in a < mid 60's beetle repair manual, it is the same spring that holds the cross arm on the thermostatic flaps. #3. Tops ones are probably West bits, ask Todd. Bottom are front door strike...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

While we're looking at that, I've got a few Q's for you split experts... 1). Do I need one of these for my gas pedal return? http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=211721619 If you think it still looks bad, you should have seen how bad this pedal looked before I started cleaning it. :...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

Appreciate those nice comments Ken. I'll keep plugging along. As far as basic information, (as in a sticky), I found ths article to be a good overview for a beginner like me... http://www.aircooledtech.com/dual_MC_upgrade/ From reading the various threads on VW related sites, most seem to reference ...

Re: CKWA/KWHA Part II

Don't forget to add a line-loc when you do the DC MC  http://inlinethumb03.webshots.com/5826/2697603510043168673S500x500Q85.jpg I don't even have a clue as to what constitutes a "line-loc", but as Muhammed Ali one said: "If that's good, that's me!" BTW, how did you mange to...
