What, you didn't mention all of the valve clatter after you adjusted the valves?
It was broiling f'ing hot today, I couldn't stand it. I bought a 24KBTU window unit to cool the shop, can't wait to get it installed.

Re: '66 Deluxe
Finished grinding and sanding the bottom third and got it shot today, it came out well. It doesn't take much hardener to get paint to "go off" at these temps......
Next- clean and paint the tranny, torsion bar caps, torque plates.

Very cool, tell us more. Pics? History? Story? I'm doing a '66 13 window right now that will also be white over red.

Re: '62 Beetle Ragtop
Right, what I meant to say was, "What trans has 12v, swing, and wide5". I know about the longer axles and bolt patterns, I didn't look at his to see if it was long or short, and I don't know if you can put W5s on a '68 long axle. I had a '68SA trans in one of my rails. Brad- I told him to ...

Re: '62 Beetle Ragtop
He pulled the engine, it has a 12v flywheel/cl on it and the bellhousing has not been clearanced for 12v, so it must be a '67 tranny. Nope, not really. Stop making general assumptions  Mounts are dimensionally the same, stud size changed, I think. Good tip, I do remember something about stud s...

The listings have different PNs for '62 and '67 tranny mounts, does anyone know what the difference is? The pictures look virtually the same so there must be a spacin...

Re: '62 Beetle Ragtop
Someone cobbled up a front tranny mount on this car. Can anyone identify from pics and numbers what is right/wrong here? I wonder if the extra stuff is to reinforce a rotted mounting bracket? http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc326/bruceamacker/vw/130711_0004_zps03d7bbba.jpg http://i524.photobucket...

Yep, those are the pics. Did you get them from my Photobucket account? I'm in a hotel and the internet crashed everytime I tried to link them to LO.

Yes, that's the one. What do you know about it?
