'62 Beetle Ragtop

My friend Eric bought a '62 Beetle sliding sunroof project car, it needs work but should not be too bad to get it on the road. It has a '70 1600SP mystery motor in it, needs pans and typical stuff but it's not past saving. I'll get some pics up (or get him to join) as soon as I can, but here's what ...

Re: '66 Deluxe

I welded in a seat mount for the 3/4 seat that I have. Here it is done with both tabs and a plate for extra strength. I finished fiberglassing the bottom of the floorpan seams, cleaning, grinding and blasting the center section and shot it. (I had already done the front third, now this is the center...

It's wall art, donated by a friend of mine. There's more than one kind of cool splitty. ;)

Re: '66 Deluxe

Still cleaning underneath, it's dirty rotten filthy work that makes me envy Kirk's rotisserie. I figured I better do something with my heater cable tubes while I'm down there because the left one was broken off 2' from the tip. I found the reason is because the other one is also plugged solid with r...

Ditto. Drywall screws work well because they have a lot of sharp edges. I'd leave the fuel filter by the tranny......

Re: '66 Deluxe

Mike- Yes, the pk brake was off, the cables were actually unhooked from the front a while back and hanging loose. The drums were hung on the spline more than anything, but the shoes did catch on one side and trash the holddowns. I'm also used to them sliding on and off on my T1s. Brad- I looked at a...

Re: '66 Deluxe

Back in the shop after a bunch of weeks teaching. I'm working toward prepping and painting the bottom of the bus which means the tranny has to come out. I figured I'd pull the drums and see what horror lies inside... WTF? Are these things always this tight? Damn, there goes the budget. Maybe I can s...

Re: Chuck's Urban Jungle Camp & Swap postscript

Ditto on thanks to Chuck as I know he spent a ton of time and money putting this together. Sean had a great idea with the urban cruise, too, that was much cooler than I thought it would be. Secondary thanks go to WSD and everyone who worked cleaning up the property ahead of time as I know that took ...

Re: Vegas Bus

Really nice, Ken, keep the pics coming as it inspires me to work on mine. My work's been super busy recently, but things are slowing down a bit so I can be full time doing important stuff again like the BUS! Yours looks really nice and I'd like to see it in person so I can ask lotsa questions......
