I might as well post the reassembly steps/photos, Matt Keith & I started putting it back together the last weekend of Sept 2012...

Sandblasted sheet metal getting rattle can gloss black,

Reconditioned connecting rods,

Lubing a bearing,

Heating the cam gear,

Gears installed on crankshaft,

Crankshaft installed in engine case,

Then the camshaft,

Case half prepped for reassembly,

Other half ready for closure,

Case ready, cam lobes lubed with red synthetic grease, bearing halves coated with assembly lube (MoS2 Molybdenum disulfide), case seam coated with Loctite 518 gasket eliminator,

Next comes the pistons & cylinders,

Then the lifters, push rod tubes, push rods, rocker arms, valve covers, fan shroud, fan, etc... We were working to a deadline (Kelleys Island) and may not have had time to pause and photograph every step of this build...

Rear engine bearer, F & U exhaust pipes, heat exchangers, muffler, intake components, fuel injection system, distributor, spark plugs & wires, etc....

Nice documentation and writeup, nice work! I'm glad the red shit on the gears and the red shit on the case halves is not the same red shit..... :lol:
