Today's work. I didn't buy expensive pieces. Used what I had laying around and David just worked with what I had. I had most of the rot cut out before he came over. Passenger side is mostly roughed in. I have to do the front valance, but That's down the road a bit. Going to fix the drivers side this week. Here is a couple pics.

Drums look to be in good shape and Not original. Hopefully I Don't have a big order on brake parts. Hard and soft lines are all in good shape. Maybe one cylinder is sticking..

Keep the pics coming Pat. I have similar issues on my 68 so this is a learning experience for me.

Pat,

Just buy all new soft hoses as you can't see the issues on the inside. Rock Auto had rebuild kits for the front for $1.75 (buy 5 in case you nick one) and rears were a similar cost. PM me your address and I can send you some brake assembly grease.

Some more headway was made on the truck today. I did a lot of POR 15 work ( in all the tracks were the door seals go and inside of treasure chest doors. Used one small container which goes a long way. Here's pictures.

Couple more. I put all new connectors for the lights ( thanks Kyle! ) shrink tubed as well. Picked up new rubber seals for the exterior lights. I have all new rubber except for the rear window. Once I'm done with the POR 15 I'M going to start the body work. Never have done it, but I know how to drywall ;) I was going to leave the front valance and take care of it later, but the metal might get ordered tomorrow . See what kind of mood I'm in then. It is all apart now.

Nice work Pat. That POR-15 is great stuff. Just don't get it on your hands or face! :(

Unless you're looking for a perfect show finish, home bodywork is certainly "dooable". It's messy and time consuming, but there are a lot of great products out there and plenty of "you tube" lessons for beginners like us. Cutting out that bad metal is key and it looks like you've got that handled. Josh knows a lot about the 3-M body work products so ask him. Some of those 3-M products, while a little pricey, are awesome. Keep at it and keep the pictures coming.

Will do Sean . I was working on getting the headlight buckets out tonight . About half of the screws came out . ( i have been soaking them , but they are just to soft . ) So I am going to drill them out tomorrow . Mike it was nice of you to stop bye today . Its always nice talking with you . I would like to POR-15 inside the headlight sockets and clean everything up . I'll post some pics when I get them out .
