You're already way ahead of me! First time I put boots on I got the screws in the wrong location!macaia8475 wrote:So, while Kirk has Gunther up on stands, I am doing some little things that a newbie like me can handle. This past weekend I got a new axle boot on his right side. The other side will get done another time, it took me a lot longer than I planned, but I guess I am learning.
I still have a lot more cleaning to do under there, but at least the boot is looking pretty.
Baby steps, right?

Nice job. Go get your hands dirty. You have the fasteners so they are accessible when Gunther is back on the ground right?

I guess I will have to find out when he is lowered. We did jack up the wheel end to make it a little bit more level. That made it easier to put the boot on. So, I think I will will be able to get to it if I have to.Mike Kever Kombi wrote:Nice job. Go get your hands dirty. Hands dirty doesn't even cover it. That gear oil is messy, and smells.

Lovely work as usual, much better than the square corners that were there!
