Non bus project: Doom Buggy!

Post by vw7266 »

Aaron was coming down to buy a bus a couple months ago....so I had him buy this for me and deliver it. Aarons been such a good friend picking up and delivering multiple items for me in the past. He also donated a beetle floor pan for this project. I plan to keep it pretty simple...nothing to complicated. Its an early sears rascal body. So far Ive shortened the pan patched up some holes...and chased down a transmission and front beam. I still need a vin tag/title if anyone has one let me know. I also scored some parts from randy and franks shop clean out they did...so thanks to all those guys who have hooked me up with parts/shipping thus far

the body!

You could just put an outboard motor on that tub and call it a boat

Sarcasm is just one of the many services I offer.

I like my water filtered through a bed of grains, cleansed by yeast, and preserved with hops.

It looks like a cool project and there's been a big resurgence in tubs for some reason lately. Be careful about running it on a Beetle title- it's not legal in Ohio. Some cops will let it go as long as the VIN matches, but some will tow it. The right way is to take the tub and receipts when it's done to the Highway patrol and get a title issued. BTDTGTTS several times years back, if you have all your ducks in a row it's no big deal.

It would be easy to put in side curtains and have heat, making it a 3 season ride from 1 season....
