Trailmix Beetle
Re: Trailmix Beetle
Nice! I will check these so called arrows. I didn't notice them but I will look a bit more closely.

Russ Upholstery sent me this pic of the seats that are almost done. The door cards will match the material and design. They turned out better than we expected.

So the overwhelming majority of people that I talk to says to go 12V.
The link above is a 12V conversion kit offered by CBperformance.
I called them today to confirm that the dash bulbs would be included. They said yes, they were included even though the webstore doesn't specify.
Does this kit cover everything I need?

Re: Trailmix Beetle
For that cost you are getting raped. That kit is made up of cheap Chinese junk. With a little work you could put together good used German parts for a lot less. I bet Bruce has a ton of the stuff you need laying around.trailmix wrote:http://www.cbperformance.com/ProductDet ... tCode=2152

I just sent Bruce AKA Dual Port a message. I am hoping that is who you are referring to. Thanks!!
Re: Trailmix Beetle
Yep Bruce will get u on the right track..and toolbox is right I'd stay away from Chinese junk...OG all the way is the way to go and probly cost u a third of that price...
Re: Trailmix Beetle
I reused the backing plate, strap, pulley, etc when I converted my bus from a generator to alternator. There was a Chinese alternator stand in my junk, but it has held up fine so far. The only item I had to buy was the alternator (which is Chinese and has had zero problems, though maybe I'm lucky.) However, the bus was already 12V and I don't remember how the backing plates and whatnot interchange between 6V and 12V.
Getting the slotted nut out of the generator stand to swap over the filler section to the alternator stand can be a bit of a PITA.
