Glad to see it back on the road. Much easier to load on a trailer now. First time I saw it a guy with a purple pony tail was living in it. A couple of bug bombs and it was ready for prime time.
What ended up being the story on the engine?

Bad valve guide causing destruction to the piston.
ChuckHole can elaborate more. He thinks the engine was rebuilt at one time but the Guide was probably not installed correctly.

If anyone has ever met Chuck they would know how caring and sensitive of a guy he is, but his love
for Type4 engines will be his only true love.
