Thanks Bill. I know enough to follow your advice, but I couldn't find any 20-50w oil around here so I went with the STP 30W I've been sitting on. I'll probably order some 20-50w or figure out who sells it. I was in NAPA today and forgot to look, so maybe they sell it.
I decided to put a regulator on the fuel line. I'm not thrilled putting anything in-line in the engine compartment, but until I get a properly dispensing fuel pump, I'm using the regulator. The regulator came with 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" connectors and obviously I opted for the 1/4". I wanted to use my 5MM fuel line, but 1/4" fit better on the nipple so I got 1/4" 30R7 line and used the better quality non-pinch clamps. I used permatex teflon to seal the threads, so we'll see. I looked around for the Holley regulator, but couldn't find one, so Mr. Gasket will have to do for now. OIl light is out, but I really haven't had time to take it on a hard run on the freeway, so the jury is still out.
I checked the valves today and the adjustment at 006 was good. Dwell is at 41 so that could use a slight adjustment. Haven't messed with the timing yet or the carb setting. That will have to wait until later in the week. At least I'm back to starting, going and stopping.
Good old STP Picked it up at NAPA I hate crap in the engine compartment. What can go wrong? Here's the 1/4" line I used.
