Hi everybody. My name is Dave. I've been in and out of the vw life for years. My first vehicle out of high school was a 68 tin top. I drove it everywhere, every day. 4 seasons. I loved it, but had to eventually give it up. I've owned a few beetles and a 64 split window over the years. I am also involved in custom vans and have a couple of them. But, I needed another bus to be truly happy. I quickly realized that I couldn't buy another project split for 5 times what I sold my last one for. So, I found a good running bay.
And apparently, it has been around this group for a while. I guess it's name is the lurch van.
I look forward to meeting some of you and sharing information and stories.

Welcome Dave. You'll find this group to be a very welcoming and helpful bunch. Indeed, you bought a LEAKOIL legacy. The Lurchmobile has been in this group since the late 1990's when Keith Price and CoCo owned it. Everyone called it the Lurchmobile because Dan (aka Lurch) owned it after Keith, so the name stuck. Bring it to any LEAKOIL event and you'll hear all the stories. Some of them are true!
