Hey Everyone thanks for the add and I look forward to joining the LEAKOIL community.

My name is Tim and I have been into vintage Volkswagens for the better part of 10years and finally acquired a Vanagon Project.

Found the Vanagon on the samba about a month ago in Pittsburgh. I'm apparently the 3rd owner, the second owner started a Subaru 2.2L conversion but never finished and from what I gather has been parked in a barn for the better part of 20 years. The Original Owner purchased it from El Paso and would drive it back and forth from Ohio to Florida to what seems like visit a relative. A lot of interesting paper work came with the Vanagon apparently the Original Owner traded in a 77 bus for the Van in 1985 and in 1990 the original motor blew and went to arbitration with VW and won, The second engine (Which VW replaced) had 286K on it.

My plans for the Van are to get it back on the road again and get out camping and enjoy it with my family.

I'm currently finishing up the 2.2L conversion and looking for all kinds of parts which is a lot of fun, if you have any leads on Vanagon Front seats or Instrument cluster housing im all ears.

Good looking Vanagon. What's the problem with your front seats?

Thanks SixVolt, It cleaned up real nice the top should be good for a few years after a couple patches before I replace it.

Amazing what a little clay, cutting compound and wax can do for the original paint and trim. Attached before and after.
