Tune-Up Day, May 6 2023

Post by Dual Port »

Yes, I'm hosting a belated Tune-Up Day at my shop on Saturday, July 24, as in previous years it's a wrenching/maintenance/social event. People who know how to wrench will help those who don't know how to wrench doing minor maintenance such as brake and clutch adjustments, oil changes and grease jobs, minor parts installation, etc, with a suggestion to bring your own parts. All VW's are welcome. The lift will be available for minor work and everything is on a first come, first served basis. BYOB as far as beer goes, Bill will have the hot dog machine and coffeepot running, feel free to bring donuts or something to share.

If you haven't been to my shop, the best address to use for GPS is 16 Greenfield Court, Berea, Ohio 44017 at the south end of Berea near the turnpike overpass and turnpike building right off Prospect. (Technically my address is on Prospect but that will confuse you if you haven't been there before) The address brings you to the wooden fence and gate, turn into the gate and park anywhere. I'll be there by 9am, most people arrive about 10ish. It usually breaks up in the mid-afternoon.

We skipped 2020 due to Covid, but here's the thread from 2019 if you haven't attended before:

This is a rain or shine event, see you there!

Widefive will be coming in real low. You'll need to get down low to see him. 8-)

Many thanks Bruce for opening up his shop to the club. Nice to see folks again in a comfortable setting. Great to see everyone especially Hank! We talked for nearly 30 minutes and not once did I mention to Hank that the lowly Browns beat the Squealers in back to back weeks the last time they played! Hank is a super nice (his wife Sue too), but she wasn't there. Jackie (of Joe and Jackie fame) made some killer chocolate chip cookies! Newer member PJ and his wife had their bus looked over by Bruce and everyone got to check out Bill's new engine in his bay. Great to see everyone and thanks again to Bruce and Pat!

Rather than start a new thread I'll continue an old one and change the date. This year's TUD is Saturday, May 6, 2023 and everything else is the same. We'll have hot dogs and some munchies, bring your own small parts for installation. Normal maintenance and inspections will be done by those who know how for those who don't. I'll show up 9-930, things will start about 10ish. Tools, lift and some parts will be available.

See you then!
