Campsite 1st night...
Campsite 2nd night...
Bulli Brigade...
Ted/Toolbox's old DC was there...
First fuel stop in WV Danny noticed his trans was puking gear oil from the bell housing... inputshaft seal was trashed. Lesser men would have turned around and headed home. Danny said, well lets see how far we get, and powered on. Made it all the way down without any issue from that... Once down there Danny hit up his little brother's shop (Rey Rey's Auto Shop) in Holiday, FL and changed the seal as well as the now gear oil contaminated clutch.
Stopped for fuel on the way home and found a couple Honda Ruckus'
Had to replace the points in Danny's Bus a few times. BOSCH points are junk. So was the new Pertronix Danny brought along. Here's Danny replacing them the last time with a set that was marked "JAPAN". Those held up fine the rest of the way home from Columbia, SC.
Danny's new 74x85.5 (1699cc) Wide Five built engine ran great other than the points issues and the exhaust fasteners loosened up pretty good
Brad had to replace a set of worn points and a plug wire connector broke about 20miles from the campsite. Swapped out the plug wire and he was good the rest of the trip.
Robb's ignition switch took a shit down on the SC/GA boarder, but I had a remote start switch we wired up.
My oil light started flickering about 10miles down the road after we first left. Turned out to be a loose connection at the sender. No other issues the whole trip
2,600+ milles with relatively minor issues, well other than the trans input shaft seal
Wish you could have made it, Greg. We missed you man!
