Shop sale at Agney's

Post by wwebner »

Sat. Aug 11,2012 (I know, same day as Columbus show) there will be a sale of all the stuff at Glen's shop at 46300 Telegraph RD., Amherst,OH. I will update time when I get it. For those who may be interested, but are going to be in Columbus, I may be able to arrange to go out there this Sat. PM me only if you may be serious so as to not waste the time of the guys trying to take care of this for Glen's wife.
Bill

Sale/auction starts at 8AM Aug. 11. I am told that this is an informal "auction" with no auctioneer.

What color is the Amphicar? May have been my dad's old one. It was blue.

Bill - You mean August 11th at 8am, not September 11th right?

Ken - The amphicar is a blue or green color. Every time I saw it, it was fairly dusty so I'm not too sure about which one it is.

The driving transmission/propeller system was broken, hence why it was parked. We looked into a replacement from Gordon's when I was apprenticing/learning from him and they were ~$15k for a brand new one. The prices had more than doubled since he had looked last.

Hopefully in some way it will be restored and put back on the road.

There also was a 56-58 Ghia project that an old lady had given him after her husband passed away, but there wasn't a title for it. I'd assume it also was brought back to the house.

Corrected,Thanks Nick

The Ghia that Nick mentioned is there and a 58 bug. I have not seen either but am told that they are VERY rough. Most all of the vehicles that are there have been sitting outside for a VERY long time.

You're not man enough to handle owning a Ghia.
