Here we go again, year 11, I think. Rooster's Redneck Rendezvous. Wow! has a ring to it. We are camping again in beautiful Carter Caves State Park in Olivehill, KY March 26-30. Last year we tried a cooking theme that seemed to work out really well,Don't Let Your Meatloaf, since all the food was eaten, I would call that a success. So this year the theme is "Calling all Piggies". That's right "Pork". The rules: It has to be a cut of pork, say loin, roast, chops etc. Bacon doesn't count(except for breakfast). The food must be brought to the competition unprepared. Must be prepared in the open where everyone can see it and it must be cooked in cast iron in the designated area. Judges will be picked and food judged then we'll tear into it. Sides will be needed. I will bring a bunch of taters, greenbeans and corn. Anything else like desserts would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is inclined to bring bread of some sort or cook some up, that would be great too.

For Friday night dinner, I'm thinking potluck or eat at your bus. I will be making either a big pot of zucchinni supreme or corned beef and cabbage.

We will probably do a now famous OVT big breakfast one morning. Num!!!!!

There will be running water in the main bath house and electric on each site.

Camping fees: I will be collecting $15.00 per bus per night. Pay me not the camp office.

Pets: Do I need to go there? I think everyone knows the rules.

Firewood: If everything goes right, considering the fire bugs we have, I should have more than enough.

Thanks for Randy's advice , I got my Lodge12 Dutch Oven. This will be a new adventure for me and I can't wait to go at it.
