We've chosen Saturday, May 25 for our annual kickoff Spring Cruise, this is a trip through the Cleveland Metroparks ending at Slim and Chubby's restaurant in Strongsville for lunch. We’ll meet at Cleveland Metroparks Emerald Necklace Marina (set your GPS for 1500 Cleveland Metro Park Dr, Lakewood, OH 44107, or an alternate address is 18900 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, GPS Coordinates 41.478151, -81.831374) at 9:30-10AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019. For those who are not familiar with the area, there's a big parking lot adjacent to the boat docks where we meet up and BS for a while. If you're in the vicinity it's hard to miss, right at the bottom of the big hill in the parkway where it meets Detroit Rd.
Get that VW ready for spring at Tune-Up day and have fun, and we’ll see you at the Cruise! All VW's are invited, and if your Dub is down (or you don't have one), you can join in with your DD. We average between 18-25 VWs for this event and it is always fun.

The 20 mile (approx.) cruise will end in Strongsville at Slim & Chubby's for lunch, 12492 Prospect Rd. Strongsville, 44149.

See you then!

For any new members this is a great event to come out and meet everyone and get to know what the club is all about. Take advantage of this event. It's really a fun day. For veterans who haven't been out in a while, its gotten better with the pre-cruise BS session and Slim and Chubby's lunch gathering.

The route is easy on you and your VW. Not as fun or challenging as driving to Charlotte, but you'll see plenty of civillians waving to you endlesly and acting surprised when they see a caravan of VW's.

This is a video from our cruise back on 2011.

Ditto on what Bill said, thunderstorms are really difficult to predict even for the best weather forecaster. Keep an eye on the Forum late Friday, if there is a hundred percent chance of solid rain all Saturday morning we may come up with a contingency plan but for right now the plan stands. Chances are it'll be okay, see you Saturday!

Ok, not a Bengals fan. You did drive over 1,000 miles roundtrip to Charlotte.

I think the cruise will be fine. We might get a stray shower, but we might dodge it too. The afternoon will be wet.
