Just a couple of notes. We will again have our silent auction. Our sponsors have donated some very nice items, but, we need you also. Dig through you treasures  . As most of you are aware, LEAKOIL does not receive any of the moneys for the camp out. Your payments go 100% to Erie county 4 H. The sale of t-shirts and other items and the silent auction are what support the cost of this web site, and the goodies that we provide including the free hot dogs and beverage all week end.
Also please visit http://www.leakoil.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=4200

And a note on camp fires. 4
4H has asked that we don't build ground fires at our camp sites. This is in order to save the grass in those areas. Raised fire pits are permitted. Camp fires on the beach are fine, along with the large group camp fire area.

For those who will be attending for the first time, 4H provides breakfast in the dinning hall on Saturday and Sunday mornings. LEAKOIL hosts a pot luck dinner on Saturday nite in the dinning hall.

Take a few minutes and check out past Kelleys Island info http://www.leakoil.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=62

Just reminders, especially for those attending for the first time.

The 4H camp is located on Ward RD. which is off of Division ST.

Check in will be at the bottom of the drive on your left when you come into the Camp property. If the weather is not co operating, check in will be at the garage building as you enter the property. If you arrive late on Fri. and registration is unattended, please come by on Sat. morning to get your pass and goody bag. There is limited electric available, ask when you arrive. If you need electric for medical reasons, please ask when you arrive. Also,no electric heaters. More than 2 on the limited circuits will trip the breakers which are not easily accessible. We would suggest a propane "Heater Buddy",if you feel you need heat.

Please try not to arrive at the camp before Noon on Friday. If you are planning on coming to the Island prior to Friday. The beautiful Kelleys Island State park is at the end of division St.

There is a commercial ice machine in the dinning hall kitchen for our use.
Also a walk in cooler for our use. Please mark your stuff in the cooler.
4H will serve breakfast on Sat. and Sun. mornings (free)
Our pot luck dinner will be Sat. eve. 5:30 or 6PM
We have the use of the commercial kitchen on Sat. if you need to prepare you pot luck dinner.
At the conclusion of the pot luck,PLEASE, pick up your bowls pans or whatever. The volunteers will gladly run them thru the dishwasher, but you must empty any remaining contents and take them to the window.
At around dusk, the kids will be able trick or treat. You may want to bring treats,or turn off your lights and pretend your not there
4H does provide firewood. There is a large group fire ring at the beach.
If the weather is to windy, there is also a large group fire ring area up near the road.
4H asks that there are no ground fires,as mentioned in a previous post, raised fire pits are allowed.

The silent auction tables will be located in the dinning hall. If you are bringing an item to donate, you can drop it off there and fill out an auction sheet. We will also have a Chinese auction with items donated by our sponsors, also a 50/50 raffle, find John,or he will find you for the 50/50 tickets.
There will be FREE hot dogs available all week end in the dinning hall.

Pets are welcome. Please be a responsible pet owner. Do not let you dog roam unattended. PLEASE pick up after your dog and yourself.

The speed limit on the Island is 25 MPH. a speeding ticket on the Island will cost you more than your ferry and camping combined.
Speed limit on the 4H grounds is 5MPH. Please be aware of children playing all over the camping area. Reckless operation of any vehicles including golf carts, mopeds or others will not be tolerated.

When you leave the Island and as you leave the ferry boat lot on the mainland, there is a white "stop bar" painted on the pavement. Please come to a complete stop before entering the road. This may save you an introduction to the Marblehead police.

This event goes on rain or shine. the 4H facility is a great place if the weather
does not co operate. the dinning hall has a fireplace and plenty of room. there will be some activities for the kids.

Have a safe drive. See you on the Island

The early registration deadline was this past Friday Sept.23. We would like to thank all of those who took advantage of this. This is a courtesy to 4H to aid them in planning for the breakfast that they provide us on Saturday and Sunday.
We had a record number of pre registrations this year. If you were not able to commit by the deadline, you are still welcome to come. All you have to do is show up and register at the registration tent. We look forward to seeing you all on the Island.

Here are some reminders and general guidelines for this weekend while at the 4H campground.

The speed limit on 4H grounds is 5MPH. Please respect this. There will be children playing on the grounds. Be sure to have your headlights on at night.

4H has asked that you use the road adjacent to the field to drive your camping vehicle to your camping spot. If you need to drive across the grass field to a camping spot, please try to drive across the field at 90 degrees from the road.

4H and LEAKOIL would also ask that you try to leave your camping vehicle at your camping spot and not use it for transportation to and from the dinning hall and showers. If you feel a need to use your vehicle to do so, please adhere to the rules above. You may want to consider camping at the top of the field near the dinning hall and showers. There are also a number of places in town where you can rent a golf cart for transportation around the camp and the Island.

4H will have coffee and muffins available beginning at 7AM. Breakfast will be served from 8AM till 9:30AM. On Saturday and Sunday.
