Here's the CSP kit. http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/Detai ... =211698501
Not sure on the piston. Kirk may know, since he did the install.

It's a single-piston caliper.

I am really happy with the AC brake setup, I have 500+ miles on it and the braking just keeps getting better as the pads seat in. I'm trying to drive it as much as I can before the weather turns.

I see Oldspeed has a kit out with a 4 piston caliper, Samba has a thread going about disc conversions.

Ted, what are the functional differences between a single piston and 4 piston setup? It seems like you see 4p on race cars, Corvettes, and other high end vehicles and single piston on most production vehicles. Obviously a single piston gets a sliding caliper and a 4p gets a fixed caliper. With your machines at work I'm sure you've done functional testing on many different kinds of brake setups. Comments?

You can run a larger pad and a 4 to 8 piston caliper will more evenly distribute pressure across the pad. You can also do things like have different size pistons lead to trail so the trailing side of the pad contacts first. This helps with taper wear and noise issues.

What you really need are plate style aircraft brakes...
