I'll be there spewing hate at Vanagons, love at Chuck and laughing at how Sean has managed to live this long.
Pre CTS trip Bus mechanical inspections will be made, with or without the consent of their owners.

You'll be happy to know (or maybe not) that I've been doing my best to bring myself to a slow demise!

Bump. The weather forecast looks perfect right now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

About 15 buses rolled in for the 2019 Tune-up Day. Weather was great, a lot of buses got some love -- some surprises were found. Bruce came to the rescue more than once... It was a good time!

Ok, I don't have the best reputation for good pics, but I do make an effort to get them up when a thread is moved to past events!
Anyway, my apologies for not being the best guest. If I seemed distant it was because I was a little stressed over a 1st Communion party I was late to and a mechanic I had to get a truck to before his shop closed. I made it to both, but would have preferred a relaxed day at Bruce's shop.
And let's start there. Big shout out to Bruce (and Pat) for hosting and making Tune Up Day a great event. Bruce got my rig on the rack early and got my rear brakes and e-brake adjusted so I can now handle Granger Road hill on any dare. Many thanks Bruce for your ongoing help and education of these fine vehicles. (P.S. The best was Bruce explaining to Bob J. what his shop was all about. Priceless - And Bob was truly impressed)
Hey Craig you need to raise your bus or stop Kirk from riding in the front seat. You're going to lose a bumper coming into Bruce's with that set up.
The splits were out in force. Gave the Vanagons a run for the money. Like Maximum Security in the Derby.
And dare I say the only guy not arriving in a split was... Well I let you figure that out.
So, did The Ric Lang pass CTS inspection? We may never know.
All in all a great day including a cameo by LEAKOIL'S #1 poster from the original site days. The one and only Howie Snyder who was properly suprevised by his lovely daughter. Congrats Howie!
So onto the non-blury pics I'm famous for.
Tim made it up from Mansfield for his first TUD.
The "Rocker mobile" that has to be the nicest 1300 '66 I've ever seen
A grouping of Aaron's favorite vehicles
My (in need of a paint job) rig
Jackie was busy selling t-shirts. And many thanks for stepping up and doing so.
The paint on Josh's '65 is really awesome. Nice Goon too!
How does Brandon luck into these great finds? Awesome bus. And the Vanny too.
The shop
It a bird, its a plane, NO ITS CHUCK!
Aaron you NEED to flunk the CTS inspection on this bus. This guy needs a more modern distributor.
Last, but not least, a big shout out to Marla who wasn't there in person, but was there in spirit and will join us for the MetroParks cruise coming up on Saturday May 25. Be there or be square.

A really big thanks to Bruce for providing his shop for this event. Thanks to his wife Pat,and Jackie for their help with refreshments. I had several pictures, but Joe and Sean pretty much covered it. I do have one I would like to share. Apparently Aaron was overwhelmed when there were 4 Vanagons in attendance.
