What type of mattress are you going to use on that platform? I hear memory foam gets really hard in the cold and becomes unbearable to sleep on and an air mattress never gets warm. Just curious what you are planning to use.

I bought something similar to this. SInce I hate camping, I only used it once. It was (is) a good product. Sometimes you can find them cheaper.

I use a hospital bed mattress pad that's part gel and part regular foam. They're $100-150 online, I bought it at a garage sale for $10. It's only about 3-4" thick but very comfortable, even after 7 straight nights on the last big trip.
