The body is now in primer, after a little more detailing on the body, engine bay and undercarriage it will be ready for sealer and eventually paint.

Long story short: I bought th bus about 10 years ago from a 79 year old lady who was the original owner. She moved to California from Ohio in the early sixties and bought the bus new in San Diego at that time. She moved to Las Vagas some years later and stayed their until the mid nineties when she returned to Ohio to retire and because she had a little gambling problem. That's all I can say for now. ;)

Haven't posted any pics for a while due to being out of town and Carlos has been upgrading his shop over the winter. It's ready for paint and I'm torn between Pearl White/Turkis and Pearl white/Bahama Blue. Seans 65 Beetle is Bahama blue.
Love the Turkis - it really pops but we have a several in the club now.

Also love the Bahama - more subtle, different, close match to the color it was painted when I got it.

Carlos' new state-of-the-art paint booth. It was worth waiting for.

New paint mixing station. Carlos can now mix his own paint, in-house.

NICE looking paint work! What about "Mouse Gray"? I don't think we have any that color in the club yet? Would it be appropriate for your bus vintage?

I thought of that too. Yes, it would be a correct color but I thought it was a little too subtle for a bus with such a sorted past.

I love Mouse Gray! I have an expensive Hawsegawa model kit of a '63/23 Window that's been sitting on my shelf waiting to be built, and that is the color I will paint it. As far as your bus' SORDID past from Vegas, you should celebrate it with a "Flamingo Casino" pink, or orange paint job.

Regardless of the color you select, with the awesome painter you have, the Vegas Bus will come out fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing it! :)
