A little slow on the forum lately.
Bus 2 is getting a front suspension refresh. I sent the spindles out to be rebushed and will be changing the worn pitman shaft bushings in the steering box. FYI nobody in the US sells pitman bushings, with two suppliers in Europe. I ordered some extras in case someone needs them.
The steering box is still in the bus, the picture below is old.

FYI, you can use spindle king pin bushings. Same OD. You just have to open up the ID on a lathe just a little or do a bunch of reaming. That's what I used when rebuilding steering boxes.
I don't do side work anymore though.

I sold my lathe years ago because it took up too much room and didn't get used enough. I have friends with lathes, but when the bushings are $5 and you have to buy them anyway, you might as well buy the right ones.

I love when I know nothing. And I love when my comment is on my knowing nothing.
But I will learn from the install.

The pitman shaft bushings were worn so I replaced those, it can be done with the column in the bus. Pretty simple, actually, knock out the old bushings and knock in the new ones, ream them with an adjustable reamer, and install a new seal. You'd think it should be metric but the shaft diameter is .998". (There are two different boxes, this one is ATE/Ross) I used grade 00 grease from TSC for lube, it comes in a gear oil bottle. It's much thicker than gear oil but thinner than chassis grease and made for corn heads and other farm equipment. The yellow bushings are the new ones. No gasket on the cover, just sealer like an engine case.
I haven't driven it yet to see how it feels.

Spindles are on.
I pulled the center pin out to find it is like new.
I pulled and resealed all of the JayCee pushrod tubes, as the o-rings had gotten square and leaked from age.
The weather finally cooperated for a long test drive yesterday, it drives great and doesn't leak!
