Thanks guys. I will take a closer look at it. I am heading to Jim's this weekend so maybe I will find something there.

Update: I changed out the coupler for the one purchased at Jim’s. The coupler we installed from WW looked fine but thought I’d try it regardless. Same results.

Did a couple of tests with it running up on jack stands and shifting it without the shift rod linkage to eliminate that as a variable. It seemed to be Ok but hard to tell. The next attempt was to loosen all connections of the transmission to the frame and engine to see if we could get a better alignment to the front link arm. We wiggled a minor amount. Connected everything back together and took it for a ride. Same results.

So for now, I am going to leave it alone. When or if I drive it I will have to manually keep 4th gear engaged. At the end of the day I have no other option but to tear it down again to see what’s going on. That will be a winter project.

Thanks to those who have helped trying to troubleshoot this with me. A lot of time has gone into the issue, much appreciated.

While the transmission situation is still getting situated, I figured I’d go ahead and finish up the interior of the bus. Cleaning up overspray from the painter and replacing curtain tie backs. That should be the final touches that I am doing on the interior. I have some damaged wood on the ceiling that I am still deciding if I want to mess with or not.
