ThanksI I think they liked it. 2 weeks in a bus with your Dad is a long time.

Okay, here are the trip stats

14 Days
9 States
4,373 miles in total
I tried to drive around 62 MPH, prayed for downhill and no headwinds
239.42 total gallons of gas
18.19 Average MPG

Best MPG 22.97 between Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. A lot of downhill and very little wind.

Worst MPG 11.20 between Mexican Hat Utah and Monument Valley. 30 to 40 MPH headwinds and steeps hills spent a lot of time in second gear even on some relatively flat roads. Massive Sandstorm, was no fun for me but the boys thought it was cool.

Highest elevation reached 11,158 feet in the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70. Spent a lot of time in second gear getting to there with flashers on.

Onboard propane tank lasted the entire trip. Used for dinner and breakfast nearly every day.

WOW! What a trip.

It looks like you had good weather and good luck, which is more important. Memories that will last a lifetime for all. Happy Father's Day!

AMAZING!

I second Kirk's response. Father of the decade.

It goes to show what a good relationship you have with your boys. The experience and knowledge you have given them is priceless.

Thank you for posting the pictures and sharing them with us here. Loved them all.

Now the big question... Did you buy one of those buses?

Lol, I did not buy one of the buses, though I did buy a sliding door handle that had good chrome :). My oldest son really wanted one of the Squarebacks.

Great trip! Great pics too. I love Flagstaff. I always stay at the old Monte Vista Hotel there. Great times.

So awesome! Brought back so many memories of when my brother and I drove out to Wyoming in 2000 with my '74 Westy. Miss being out West. Can't beat the view!
