Re: Stuff at the Shop

Put a bike rack on Bus 2 for camping, I unbolted the bumper and stored it, dug up some Beetle bumper brackets, cut them down, drilled the spotwelds, and welded scrap to it. Some heater hose finished it off. Also helping Rob do brakes and an AC disc upgrade to his '66 camper. Beautiful ride in the pa...

Beetle Vert Doors and Fender

I acquired these lately, I think they fit 60-64 and the fender is a 60-61. They have shit paint but are in excellent condition otherwise, sitting for 30+ years in a garage. Let me know if anyone needs them.

Re: Sean's '59 Panel

Can someone rebuild a distributor backwards :? It's not that someone built it backwards, it's that on some distributors the pin hole at the bottom (where the drive is attached) is at 90* from where most distributors are. This puts the rotor 90* off from most distributors. If the rotor is 180* off, ...

Re: Camp Qwesty 2020...Don't Miss it!

Where'd he get the bad diesel? Is that rare to happen? What contaminates it? Wow, I could write a book in response to those questions. I'll cut it down to a few bullet points: -Alan bought the bad fuel from a small gas station in a small town, not a good thing to do. With diesels you want to buy fr...

Lots of disguised mfr vehicles being tested in the sand. Also saw 4dr Broncos. 20200902_144954.jpg Lee and his 14 YO son, Luke, who will have plenty to talk about at school. 20200903_110751.jpg Were we thrashing those Teryx's? Outside of the Gilmore Museum near Kalamazoo. Strange group of busses, with only ONE (John's on the far left) having a stock gas engine. Next to his is Lee's diesel Vanagon, undoubtedly the slowest vehicle ever built and certainly can't outrun an early splitty. Next is mine with the 1904, Alan's (fr...

Back home safe and sound and now with a keyboard. This was an unbelievable trip, 10x better than I expected it to be, and I really appreciate the effort Lee and Rob put into logistics and making all of the reservations. All the rest of us had to do was show up. The big surprise was the dunes, of cou...
