Had a chance to get the bus up to speed today, the engine pulls really well even in fourth gear. The steering is a little sloppy at speed I guess my spindles are a little worse than I thought they were and Aaron is going to end up with some of my money.

I would probably buy a widefive hitch and sign a liability waiver. Of course if I had a sketch.......

I finally got to take the bus out in the road for a trip to get gas. First time on the road since 1986. It ran great but it is very slow cranking once it warmed up, I have a hard start solenoid installed and new cables, she is still 6volt, guess I will be doing a 12v conversion this winter...

Cool, I was wondering if the old 6v starter would hold up if I left it alone. i have a bunch of work to do before I get to the 12 volt conversion.

Wow, a clutch change sure is a lot more complicated on a vanagon than on a splitty, the downside is after I finished changing my clutch on the 66 the bus still looked crusty ... Nice work!
