Re: Alternate Third Thursday – Local Fare – Short Cruise Sept. 24th

This was a lot of fun last time we did it. The cruise was actually pretty cool. I'm in. :D Maybe Widefive will show! :o Not that far from his place :D

Avon Lake Sundays

Some old car folks are having a get together every Sunday from 4pm to sundown at Avon Lake Towne Center. I went early and the turnout was lame. I heard it got a little better later. No VW's but me. But its always nice being a big fish in a small pond. :D The Regal took me back in time. By the mid 80...

Re: Sean's '59 Panel

Chuck stopped by and brought me a present. In the course of his flea market excursions he came acoross a set of the plumber sockets that can be used to remove difficult attachemnts like oil filler nuts on gen/alt stands. He scored a set of four for a whopping $3. How does he find this stuff? Anyway,...

Re: Camp Qwesty 2020...Don't Miss it!

Next to his is Lee's diesel Vanagon, undoubtedly the slowest vehicle ever built and certainly can't outrun an early splitty. An early SO23 Westy with a stock 36HP can't outrun a tricycle. My money's on the Goon! Looks like a great trip! :D Where'd he get the bad diesel? Is that rare to happen...

Re: Sean's '59 Panel

Been cleaning up old original tin for a doghouse set up, but thought I'd post this up about the oil filler set up. I'm going alternator, so I got the kit to go to an alternator stand. I've got an old set up with breather pipe (for lack of a better term) but I've got to remove it from the old stand. ...

Re: Camp Qwesty 2020...Don't Miss it!

Looks like a great event and many thanks for putting an event like this together at a time when everything is cancelled and folks are starving for some VW interaction. :D I hate camping, but I may have to drive to Tony Pacos's in the 40HP just so I can buy one of those Vanagon T-shirts for Widefive!...

Re: Sean's '59 Panel

And I'll offer my own disclaimer. Those weren't covers I used. They were from an old motor I picked up to grab parts off of. But this gives me a chance to post my favorite disclaimer cartoon.

Re: 1957 Oval

While I'm getting ready to pull the motor again on this beetle, I thought I'd sort out the passenger door latch/lock/stricker plate issues. I put WW aftermarket ('60-'64) latches this bug when I first got it back together, but I discovered the aftermarkets were crap. I sourced some used '60-'64 Germ...
