I might be in. Depending on how vehicle upgrades go I might bring the truck or need to ride shotgun.

Re: 1960 SO-23 A.K.A. Gunther
Thanks Bruce. I saw that thread on the Samba. I have been doing a lot of reading. :D You could also refurbish the unit you have and run it. Join the Eberspacher group on bookface and download the manuals from Samba and have at it. The only hard part to find is a fuel pump diaphram but I think there...

Re: PIB Campout 2020
Does the guy holding the beer even have a camper anymore? Or does the engine still need to be installed?

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
I would like to try wiring in a relay in the engine compartment. I found this on the Samba. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=334340&highlight=double+relay My engine is carbureted and has an aftermarket fuel pump mounted on the inside of the frame rail near the starter. So I think a...

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
Checked at the starter and got 12.46. Switched to the terminal the red wire with the white stripe is attached to, had my son crank the ignition and got nothing. Cut the connector off, it was bent and felt weak, stripped the wire back and had my son crank again and still nothing. Jumped with a screw...

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
I bet the electrical portion of the ignition switch has failed. unhook the switch and jump terminal #30 (HOT all the time and unfused) to terminal #50 and see if it cycles the starter.

Re: 76 Westfalia Sweet Pickle
You have a compression fitting in the hard brake line going to a caliper in a photo above, those are not safe on brake lines and probably not legal. There's a bleeder screw at the bottom of the caliper in the pic, make sure there's another at the top. Either you have a caliper with two bleeders or ...

Re: Woodward Dream Cruise 2020
If it's a bust we can load up my Caravan and drive around to all the old factory sites. My wife and I did that once with a guy we met at the local cars and coffee that was in town from Chicago. We showed him all kinds of places while he talked about architecture, he and his father were architects. T...

I think if you stay north of 14 Mile you should not be hasseled. County Sherrif and State PD might be an issue the whole length of the strip h ticket book in hand for the rice and muscle guys.
I will probably be at the Mi VW group at the northern end and come in off a side road.
