Re read my explaination. The cylinder fires when the valves are closed. That{s what make the piston go down. You were there when you had your wife rotate the engine.

OK found tdc for #1 .Valves closed on #1 . I checked to be sure by watching the #3 valves as the exhaust valve opens then just closes ,then when the intake just started to move I stopped and it was linned up with a notch. The notch it was linned up with was to the left of the notch I was using (about 2'' to the left)Anyways I readjusted the valves ,static timed, and put wires on accordingly. When I adjusted the valves the first time I was adjusting the #1 valves when it was on #3's turn( that was probably the boom I got?)That video 6volt posted helped. Now that I think wires etc. are correct ,went to fire it up and ZIP.Almost started but no Dice.Any idearz.

Pull out all the spark plugs and make sure they are properly gapped and not fouled. Install new ones if any doubt about condition.
Make sure you are getting enough fuel. Try some starting fuid if necessary.
Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Along with what Ken said, if you're running points, you're going to have to re-check the point gap.

New points, new plugs(gapped correct).I read starting fluid isnt good to use.Dont know if that s true or not.Just a little frustrating. But I am learning alot more than if it would have started right up.Battery is dead from cranking ,is it cool to just use jumper cables or just pull the battery and charge it.
