Re: MY 1967 Splittie Camper
Those picture links aren't showing up for me either. I think its a LHD. May have been bought in W. Germany and sent to England? Here is a picture of it from tune up day 2010 that Nick took.

Damn I look old in that pic...... Oh wait I am old... And I caught the attention of a young lady !!!! Truth be told she was interested in the bus and I just happened to be there
The bus was purchased in Aylesbury, England . It was shipped to Ramsgate England from W. Germany. The original owner was in the Army at the time. He did use it over there for a bit and then had it shipped to Oregon. I bought it from his estate (son)..... He is the one that told me it was a Danbury..... When I joined S.S.V.C. to try to find some data they said it could be a Canterbury Pit..... Either way it is a rare one in the U.S.A. and a Win Win for me...... The original dealer is still in business and they stated that they had used both companies during 66 and 67 to install campers.... The Pit has specific marks on them, I am told, and so far I have found none of these. David Eccles, who most say is a authority on Campers says he can not make a determination...... If it could be proven to be a Danbury, it may be one of three (3) Splits that have survived and possibly the only one to make it over here. I will say that it is my favorite vehicle, by far
Hey Phil, my roof has a variation in the design from the close up pics I have seen on Pits
